GeForce Go 7300 (256MB dedicated)
24X CD-RW, DVDR/RW Drive
15.4" UltraSharp WSXGA+ w/TrueLife
Broadcom 440X 10/100 Integrated
Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Net

Completely tweaked out and the 3DMark05 score was still a pathetic 1293!
dude that's a geforce go 7300 and the 64-bit memory bandwidth on the 7300 can't even support 256 dedicated. you mean 128MB dedicated and if you were using your brain you would know the x1400 which is cheaper tops the 7300.

*Note* the T2300 is a bit weaker and not recommended for gaming.

The best card for a 15.4" would be an X1600 256mb or a 7600 256mb.
Actually my T2300 does a fine job :] and it is recommended for gaming in my world. The T2300E is cheaper and save some dough for merom later on. + It uses less battery + heat :].

wha????

Wait a sec!

Emoe, you accuse me of not using MY brain, and then tell me that I'm mis-spec'ing my own notebook?

1 Inspiron E1505, Intel Core Duoprocessor T2500 (2MB/2GHz/667MHz) $1,385.00
1 15.4 Inch UltraSharp TrueLife Wide-screen WSXGA+, for Inspiron 6400/E1505 $0.00
1 1GB, DDR2, 533MHz 2 Dimm for Inspiron 6400/E1505 $0.00
1 256MB Ge Force 7300 Graphics card for Inspiron 6400/E1505 $0.00
1 60GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive for Inspiron 6400/E1505 $0.00

That does say 256MB doesn't it?
And the Ferrari 5000 I'm getting does have a ATI x1600, doesn't it?
So I'm pretty much aware, I just thought I'd give an Intel/GeForce a try.
I've been a die-hard AMD/ATI fan for years.

The E1505 w/ 7300 uses 256mb of shared memory ("Turbocache", for marketing reasons).

Damn.

I KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
Betrayed by OEM bureaucracy.
Even my 'Display Properties' said 256MB, as did '3DMark05' and 'dxdiag'.

LIES, LIES, LIES!

OK, since I'm 0 for 3, is the Ferrari 5000 at least a decent 15.4" notebook to game on?

Go ahead, make me 0 for 4.

You know: If the Turbocache actually does what it claims, wouldn't the System Memory decrease 128MB as the Video Memory increases?
For example, in XP, 16MB of shared video would report 16MB less System Memory. (i.e your 512MB of RAM would report 496MB because your AGP Aperature stole 16MBs) Shouldn't it be the same concept?

Then again, what the hell do I know.

chill out man... at least you've come to the right place!

about the ferrari: there really isnt much information available about it, but it seems like a good buy... however personally, I'd go for the cheaper yet very good Asus Z96j, check it out at www.gentechpc.com

lmao... chill man! You came in with too much pride like mr.know it all :P. You had it comming for ya! anyways go with the asus Z96J 15.4 isn't that bad I prefer something smaller like the Asus W3J 14. I prefer something smaller and portable and it has a nice X1600 256MB dedicated why get something bigger when the smaller version is equally as powerful!
^ because the smaller version is about $400-500 more expensive
