what mac should i get?

okay, i want a mac for editing hd video, photos, music scoring (garage band), apple motion, podcasting, iweb but macs are so expensive!! I'm thinking of getting a fully loaded Imac because its cheaper than a mbp. Oh, do you think apple will ever release osx to be installed on a pc? Has anyone ever tried using the apple credit card thing? I'm a future freshman in college btw so i'm not rich

Everything you want to do can be done an any Mac except for Motion which needs a good graphics card, so the iMac is what you'll want if price is a concern.

OS X will not be released for PCs any time soon.

Don't use Apple credit, they give you a HUGE interest rate. Better to use an actual credit card to pay for it.

Well I'm in the same position I didn't have the cash on hand and just your typical poor college student. I fortunately got a $1500 tax refund and bought a dual G5 2.0 at CompUSA for $1610. I'm glad I didn't charge it. I would recommend get the most you can with what you can pay for. Computers are not worth financing for people like me. If I can't pay for something like that with cash then I really don't need it that bad. Wait and save for it you will not regret it later. The imac is a great choices esp if you are going away from home and coming back during the summers. Just curious what kind of HD video are you gonna be editing?
