Its "ok" as long as your not gonna do any gaming. I think you can get the same specs a little bit cheaper though.

It still has a shitty X200, not much better... You're better off checkin out some dell e1505, with the X1400.. You might be able to play those games on medium/low settings.

does dis shipp to canada?

sorry to tell you, but the dell 1505 is not available in canada. I did extensive research on laptop pricing for about two days and found that dell sells great laptops, in terms of specs, for a good price in the US. The story is very different in Canada. Dell's pricing structure for the Canadian market is rediculously high.

If you're looking for a decent gaming machine for a good price, I would recommend the Compaq v2630. pc4canada is selling it for 800 canadian. At futureshop, its 900. If you get FS to match the price, you'll save about 120 bucks.

I hope this helps. This is the first time that I have really contributed something to the forum:> (i'm a newb)

I forgot to tell you what laptop I just got. It's my 3rd one in the last 3 weeks:> (I've returned a couple for various reasons) Anyways, I'm currently typing on a Compaq v2650 and I've got to say that for the price, it's an amazing machine. The screen is beautiful, the build quality and design are both great and it is fairly powerful.

It's got a . .

Turion 64 ML-34 1.8ghz cpu
100 Gig HDD
1 Gig of DDR 333mhz ram
ATI 200M 128MB (shared) vid card
14" brightview screen
bluetooth/wlan support
altec lansing speakers
6 in 1 card reader
Lightscribe DL dvd burner
3 usb ports/1 firewire port

I got all of this for 900 canadian, which is about $810 without tax. I paid about 50$ Can. tax (this laptop was purchased in alberta). After hours and hours of research, I found that this was the literally the best deal in North America for a mid-range machine. There is one small problem that I should make mention of. I don't know if you'll be able to get one. I picked this one up while I was in Calgary, and they only had a couple left in the entire city. One week ago, they had dozens. Staples is clearing them out of their stock and I found that it was extremely difficult to get one.

I would suggest phoning your local Staples to see if they have one in stock. The 200M is much, much better than the 950.

I don't know what you're on... But Dell.ca is selling the E1505, its just renamed to "Inspiron 6400", but its identically the same notebook and the price is actually better.. For these settings
T2400, 1 gig ram, 9 cell battery ATi X1400, Windows Xp Home , it costs about 1090$ before taxes, which is impressive given the performance it outputs

could you give us a link to the location of th 6400 on the dell.ca site?

thanks

I forgot to tell you what other retailers are charging for the v2650.

Futureshop wanted 250$ more !!! (1150$) When I asked if they would price match Staples 4 guys spent 20 mins doing research and talking with their manager. If they honored the price match guarentee, they would have subtracted the difference from the price and 10% of the difference. They couldn't beleive that Staples was selling it for 900. In the end, a sales rep came up to me and feed me a bunch of bull about how Staples was actually selling the machine for 1100$. I knew that this was an obvious lie. Futureshop did not want to honor their price match policy because the price difference was so dramatic. Rather than arguing with them, I just went down the street to staples and saved my 250$. It's a great machine and its no wonder they are flying off the shelves all across Canada.
