Not overclocking and I am pretty sure using a different driver will not void the warranty

I installed the new driver, and then i ran 3DMark06. It gave me a lower score (3822 vs 3690) than with my 8.4.0.0 driver. Why did it up your score and not mine??

Hmmmm......don't know. it is kinda strange though. Retested and got a score just over 4K, did you run the test on battery power?

No, I ran it plugged in. Is there another reason this might've happened? Do you have to uninstall the previous driver before installing the 91.45? I just ran the 91.45 setup without uninstalling the other one. Maybe there is some setting in the NVidia control panel I have to change? Any ideas?

I will try doing it with the Have disk way, which is the way you did it, i just used Setup.exe to install it.

I did uninstall the old drivers and then ran det destroyer or something to remove the tidbits left over before installing new drivers. Other than that I do know that the same card can have variances in scores that are unexplainable. I have 2 desktops with 6800's in them same model and brand and no matter what I do (short of OC'ing) one of them scores about 800 points less than the other

Well for one thing when I run the tests I shut down everything running in the background that isn't needed. Turn off wi-fi, and everything else I can think of.

Pharoke,

Could you tell me which programs you erased/kept when you got the computer? Like make a list? I would love that, so i can unisntall all the shit stuff. Also, what's wi-fi? And what programs did you close for the test?

Thanks, and I am sorry for asking so much... I feel bad... You have been very helpful so far.

Well as far as what was on the pc when I got was just a lot of the useless stuff that I won't use. Chakz is correct. I shut down everything in the task bar next to the clock. I also set the system to maximum performance when on ac power.
