Yikes! No DVI!!

Hey everyone,

I was just about to pull the trigger on a Dell 2007FPW when I realized I better check to see if I have a DVI port on my laptop. TURNS OUT I DON'T!! I only have the lowly VGA adapter.

Question: Is it a waste of money to get a digital LCD if I only have a VGA adapter? Will the image quality be lower? Or can I get a VGA to DVI adapter and get all the benefits of DVI?

Thanks!!

Running a DVI LCD on a VGA laptop won't give you the benefits of DVI (even with a VGA-to-DVI adaptor), but it'll still be handy to have the option of using DVI on the LCD later (when you upgrade the laptop).

I have a Dell 2405 with two desktops connected. The DVI image quality is best, but the VGA is good. I don't think you'll be unhappy with the 2007 at all. I'm no expert, but IMO, Dell's monitors are generally excellent, especially considering their prices.
