In March of 2001 I purchased an Inspiron 8000 with a 850PIII proc, after 2 years including one where the laptop was in storage I had 5 system boards 2 keyboards memory replaced because the laptop was taken apart so many times the video cable was bad so the replace the entire lcd was replaced along with the cable. The lcd was put together right and twoweeks later it cracked while I was opening it. They wanted $700 to fix it. After paying $5000 for the laptop and all the accessories I wasnt about to shell out another $700 for this laptop when the told me that it was my fault it broke and there was nothing that they could do for me. After several months of bickering back and forth I ended up filin a complaint to the Better Business Bureau an executive called me and told me they were send a new laptop out to me. I received an 8500 with an nvida 4240 and a true mobile 1400. So the guestions.
1) Ive seen post on the forum that point to the fact that the radeon 9600 for the I8600 would fit in the 8500, has anybody done this? any problems? and how much did the card cost?
2) Does any know if the truembile cards are flashable in the laptop and where do you get the file(I searched dell but only found drivers) to flash the firmware and what is the current flash level 5.1 I believe.

Thanks for any help
