Travelmate 8104 sticky button problem

Thread Starter
Hi all,

Recently the right mouse button on my 8104 touchpad has become "sticky" and requires pushing a lot harder than it should and doesn't always work. It's had nothing spilt on it, but, am wondering if something has got stick under it.

How hard is it to remove the top of the laptop to see if anything is stuck and clean it, or, any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

it is not hard to take the top off, but it requires nerve and a "blame noone else" attitude.
i took mine apart awhile back, it looked like it has some sort of "corrosion", canned air it, brushed it, still a bit sticky, it seems that this is a rare issue regardless of laptop models/brands.
i did pound on the button (laptop was off) using my thumb and pressing hard on it. seemed sometimes to get the thing back to functioning.

charlatan approach.

cheers ...

had the same problem

havent FULLY solved it, but i helped it when i opened up the laptop and used a small screwdriver to wiggle the switch under the right mouse button (on the motherboard) .. its less sticky, but i still have to press a little bit harder..

very very annoying
