Look for the wireless Microsoft mice.
They are always on sale somwhere and they r very good. Very sturdy, extremely ergonomic (unless you are a lefty), phenomenal battery life.
I use one at work(fulltime job) that I bought near 8 months ago and sometime last week I got the first message that the battery levels are low and need changing.
Also have sideways scrolling but that is just a gimmick, totaly useless unless you use a lot of spreadsheets and even there it is awkward to use.
Cheers.

I have both a Logitech V200 and a V450 and like them both as far as operation. But for traveling the V450 is better as the receiver slides securely into the mouse. It just clips to the bottom on the V200 and is easily knocked off. The 450 also has a laser engine, but I haven't found anything that I wanted to mouse on the at the 200 could track. Do stay away from the V400 though as it is a hunk of junk. Goes to sleep in 15 sec, and takes over a sec to wake back up. They got it fixed in the 450.

Id also go with the microsoft wireless optical mouse (well I wouldnt because I'm a lefty and the world hates on lefties) but i picked one up for my mothers lappy, and it works great. If you are looking to spend a little more and get the top of the line type deal, go with the Logitech MX1000. I bought one of those for my dad (both parents are right handed, maybe i was adopted?) but this thing is incredible. it has a rechargeable battery and is really righty-ergonomic. it is also one of the mose accurate and steady cordless mice i have seen. It works on just about any surface. Im not much of a gamer, but id have to imagine it works really well for that

i got the wireless optical 2.0 on my desktop, and then on my laptop the notebook optical 4000, both work like a charm, i wish the notebook was the same size as my desktop, but i didn't want to carry around the usb base thing, just wanted a dongle. but the response on both has been perfect..
