i didnt buy the 3yr apple care with my macbook because i was told id be able todo it before 1yr's time. id like to purchase it now and have a couple questions. my phone is in service for a few days, otherwise id just call apple

first, since i paid for a laptop with the education discount, im to assume ill get the 180ish $ price for the 3yr warranty now correct?

second, i see i can just buy a warranty in the refurb section on the web, can i just do that? and how would i go about applying it to my MB?

Hi,

Yes, if you're a student you can buy AppleCare at the student discount. And you are right, you can buy it at any time before the original 1 year warranty runs out.

If you're a student, you should log into the Education store (there's a link to it on the right-hand site of store.apple.com) and buy the AppleCare protection for the MacBook there. You don't need AppleCare for a refurbed MacBook.

The price is $183 with your student discount to extend it to 3 years of protection.
