i noticed the grainy screen problem. it looks like its obviously due to some kiind of light grey spots on the lcd screen itself (since they dont move) but ive only noticed it on dark, pure grey environments (like in 3ds max if you have a grey viewports and textures) otherwise it is hardly noticable.
it does get quite a bit warmer to the touch than some other laptops (my dad has an hp with the same specs and its always cool, but i think the gpu is underclocked) however, it also runs much much quiter than any other laptop i have ever seen. so i dont see that as a problem.
the buttons on the touch pad are a bit loud, especialy if you click around thet edges, but i use a mouse most of the time anyway, so it dosent bother me.
as far as the computer being slower on battery. you can always change that in the catalyst control center for the gpu, but ive heard that the core dou atomaticly clocks to 1ghz when on battery, so that might affect performance.
also (though this might depend on where you buy it from, not sure) but the power adapter is kinda big (relative to the others ive seen) and it also gets quite hot.
oh, i would also have liked for the free carying case to have a little more room for accesories, but i guess thats just being picky, lol, especially since its free.
anyways, these issues dont really bother me, especialy since i use the laptop as a DTR, and i would have strongly consdiered other models if i wanted a very portable laptop.
