I just had to share this.
I generally lurk in the Mac forums at Simtropolis.com but whenever there's a good question I'll pop in with advice or help. Well, there's this one guy there who just can not get it through his head that I know what I'm talking about and we just had another confrontation just in the last couple days.
See, someone asked a question about how to get Sim City 4 to play better on their new MacBook. He figured that with the newer computer and faster processors that it should run faster, but SC4 is not universal and the MacBook has integrated graphics.
When I pointed this out the other guy just had to jump in saying that it's not because SC4 isn't Universal, as he's able to run Photoshop faster than his 1.4 GHz PowerBook, it's that 10.4 sucks—he keeps saying 10.4 sucks for SC4 but I've never noticed it. He also goes on to basically say that the GMA950 is better than sliced bread.
When I showed him credible benchmarks saying this was not the case he started bitching and moaning saying he was right because it's faster for him and not some people over the web and that I shouldn't say anything unless I can compare it myself.
He later goes onto say that he's able to use Photoshop and Maya on his MacBook and they run perfectly...he even gets a 33 percent increase on Maya renders! Wooo! Nevermind the fact that rendering takes place entirely in the CPU and not the GPU.
But, of course, a Mod had to step in and ruin the fun.
