I have a set of new 5.10.5208 running on my i6400.

and the 5343 on my vista install.

Would alot of people be interested in a Set of these for all dell notebooks? with included control panel hack? for both Win XP and Vista?

Let me know so i can get some people up for testing.

Latest XP version I can find is 5208. DriverVer=09/07/2006,5.10.5208.0

Latest Vista Driver is 5343. DriverVer=01/12/2007,6.10.0.5343

I can't get my 1405 to output audio through the line out jack. My mic jack is all messed up and this fix would really help. Can someone please help me?

Bmilch, You don't make entirely clear your problem, objective nor which fix you mean. It sounds like your stock driver needs reinstalling or you have physically broken something "My mic jack is all messed up". Of course you can use the most recent hacked driver but I would try reinstalling the proper Dell driver first. Get it from Dell's download page. Then you will eliminate hardware failure as the cause. If it is hardware you have USB as an option. Griffin iMic will do well for a pittance and Turtle Beach too. Good luck, Geep

What i am saying Geep is that the sound cuts out when i connect my speakers, and its not my speakers because i have tried a few. I did everything right and i program the line in jack to be the output of audio but it just plays through the speakers on the laptop, and even if i turn the sound off the speakers it still wont play through the other jack. Please Help

Bmilch, Try the driver reinstall and check playback assignment in Control Panel applet. If this does not fix it then you need to have a technician check for a broken jack or other physical problem. These jacks are mounted to a circuit board with solder and not secured to the frame thus they break easily. If you're not warrantied and can tell that jack is loose, get a USB sound device which will probably cost less than a bench charge. GEEP

Thanks much.

Yep, I just applied the changes that everyone was recommending to the 92XXM2-2.INI and the resulting file is attached.

I noticed that some of the other hacked drivers were not handling the dock headphone port correctly, my version of the hack seems to do perfectly with that. (They weren't cutting the internal speakers when a headphone plug was connected.)

Basically, I took the original 92XXM2-2.INI from the R122161 package and compared it to the 92XXM2-5.INI from the original Dell package. Using the differences between those files, I modified the hacked 92XXM2-5.INI, creating a 92XXM2-2.INI. After this, I had some issues with XML errors on the Sigmatel Control Panel. With some educated guesses, I was able to alleviate these Control Panel XML errors.

This driver provides the Latitude D620 a working Stereo Mix along with a working docking station headphone port. I've been using it for a few hours now, and have yet to determine an issue with it.

Apply it the same way you would with the other INI hacks listed here.

Could someone please refer me to a post # where it tells how to determine which .ini file is used in your system? I need a hack for the I6400.

I would be interested. I'm particuarly interested in dual headphone output on the Sigmatel in my Dell Inspiron 6000 running windows vista. Most of the information on this site seems to be for the older drives on XP and I can't get it to work.

I definately need these. Please post ASAP, all I need is dual outputs!

Thank you.

I've got the other version of the STAC 92XX (the cheep one) in an Inspiron 1300, in XP I tried some of your hacks and they seem to work fine, I got the Input Monitor (w/slider) to work, I got Steromix in the Record section and I even got the EQ to work in the Sigmatel Control Panel, NOW I've got vista and the only thing I managed to get working was the Input Monitor (but no slider) and VISTA is VERY picky one value out of place and boom either no sound or bluescreen. I am presently using (Sigmatel now owned by IDT)Driver version 6.10.0.5343 and WRT_M2-4.INI. Does anyone know how to Crack this sucker?

Ethan, you are farther along then me in trying to figure this out. Could you give some more details on what you succesfully did / changed in that .ini Also, in Vista, where does the input monitor show up? Under the sound control panel, or did you actually get that seperate sigmatel control panel to show up? Thanks for any details you can share
