Hey,

Is there a working Sigmatel driver for the 6400/E1505 (STAC9200) for Windows 7, with a jack select option? I found the current driver I am using on XP for this laptop, linked in this thread a long time ago; it was a driver for an LG laptop and it gives a popup whenever a device is plugged into one of the jacks. Speakers are permanently disabled and I don't mind.

I've tried Windows 7 a few years back and could find no driver that let me use the mic as the output, had to revert to 7.

Hi guys, first post, I've been doing some research on the 'hacked' driver for my e1405 that would let me put audio out of my microphone jack (the headphone out is broken out) and it appears i need 92xxm2-1.ini... the instructions I found pointed me to the "cais inf file for e1405 as modified by falerus" and said i could register and download what I needed, but I can't find any way to download it from that post.  Can somebody please repost/link 92xxm2-1.ini, or let me know if I'm doing something way wrong? Thanks!

Did you try out the link in post #542 above?

I did, nothing seemed to change, from what I could tell I need the 92XXM2-1.ini file, rather than the 2-2.ini at the link provided (I think the 2-2 is for a different model, and different functionality... everything I've read mentions a modded 2-1.ini for the 640m/e1405, the 2-2 seems to apply to other models).  I know this file was posted way earlier in this thread, but there's nowhere I can find to download it.  So i figure the file was removed due to age or I don't have the right privileges or something...

Not really, we have an issue with keeping the attachment within this new hosting site, sorry sad.gif. Hopefully someone can load it up using an external free hosting site like mediafire per example.

Hi, I've got an M65 and looking specifically for 92XXM2-3.ini file. For some reason I don't have any full duplex on this machine (that is I can't hear while I record), and hoping going through these fixes will help me solve it. I can't imagine even a cheap sound card doesn't do that. Links in the posts mentioned don't contain the files, anyone have it?

Kevin

actually in the ini file that came with the driver it seems pretty straightforward, stuff like

EnableInputMonitor      = hex: 0

I imagine it just turns stuff off and on. Could this just be a dig and tinker sort of thing or will I break something badly?

Hi, I know it's a while since this thread was active but my headphone jack has broken. I need the 92XXM2-3.ini file, I've had a go at comparing files and more by random luck than anything got the internal speakers to work when detecting the headphones as plugged in. However, I haven't managed to get my subwoofer to work again, and having the option of using the mic input as a headphone would really be the icing on the cake. My impression was falerus produced something around post 76 for some people in a similar predicament. I wondered if anybody would be able to repost the 92XXM2-3.ini file, if you can that would really appreciated.

Thanks

I found this driver which someone made before all of these attachments disappeared. On the E1505 or Inspiron 6400, and possibly other laptops, it provides a popup for jack select which allows the mic port to be an output. It also has a stereo mix, and possibly other extended options in the Control Panel, but I am not sure if these work, and if they work on other models.

You can DL this driver and take the INF files out of the WDM folder, to replace the appropriate file in your own driver. Compare the original dell driver to see where the changes are to get and idea of how to modify your own driver to do this.
