Inverter

I just got my new screen for my 9300. It's a samsung, and the previous screen is an LG. It came with no inverter. The one on my LG seems to be attached to it, so. Do I need to attach the inverter, or will the screen work with just the video card attached?

Wow. What a learning experience.

Anyway, Does anyone know where I can find an Inverter for LTN170WX-L05?

I can find the one for the LTN170WX-L03 all over the place (Ebay, and such) but no luck on the inverter for the L05... I'm wondering if perhaps there is no difference.

The one I keep finding is called LTN170W-B.

Maybe I should grab it, since I can't find any info on the one for the L05.

And, if I'm not mistaken, the WXGA+ cable that I already have for this laptop screen that's in the comp now should work on the new screen, since the resolution is still 1440x900 right?

i believe you need the inverter, Can't say for sure the LG one will work on the Samsung. as long as the cabling the same chances are it would work.

to be asfe you may want to contact the person you got the dcreen from and inquire why they didn't send the inverter with it

The inverter for the LG does not work, it lights up the very bottom of the samsung, faintly, but I get no picture at all. I just grabbed the inverter for the LTN170WX-L03 on Ebay, as it's the only thing remotely close to the LTN170WX-L05 that I bought. No Google search or Ebay search has so much as had one bit of info on what Samsung inverter I even need for this screen. It's frusterating. I'm hoping the LTN170WX-L03 will work, as the screen seems to have the same general specs as the L05 version, just a different version number...

Anyone have any idea? Anyone have a LTN170WX-L05 they could look at the inverter for me and post the part number and all relevant info, so I can buy the right one?

Am I correct in thinking that without the inverter, or with the weong one, I will see nothing at all on the screen at bootup?

Yes, the inverter supplies the voltages to run the display

yeah, you're definitely going to need that inverter that works specifically for that screen. I'd say get ahold of whomever you got the screen from (Dell does not ship inverters seperate from panels) and see what they say about it or help you in any way.

From what I have read you are going to need the specific inverter that should have come with the display. As I have read a lot of post reguarding this subject a while back when I was considering changeing a bad inverter if you can't get the inverter from the person who sold you the display I would highly recomend contacting a LCD repair shop to possiable purchase the right inverter as that is what they specialize in and will know which inverters will work with certin displays.

Best wishes

No reply from the company I bought it from, still trying...

I did buy an inverter, should be here Monday or so. We will see, and I will post results here. Thanks to all that responded. I would still like to know if anyone has a screen exactly like mine, what inverter they used.
