M1210 T7400 Merom Benchmarks

Thread Starter
All of these were done without any overclocking, optimizations, or reinstall of windows or anything of that nature. I'm sure they scores could have been a little higher. As for noticeable difference, I think it does boot up faster and things do seem a little snappier.

Now for the benchmarks:

Battery Life: I got a little OVER 3 hours surfing the web on my 6 cell battery with the brightness set to 2 clicks below full and wifi on. I think I used to get around 2.5 hours, so it's a pretty large improvement.

SuperPi 2M: I used to get 1m22s with the 1.86ghz Yonah. I've gotten 57 or 58 seconds with the Merom.

3Dmarks: I don't think this improved by much. The CPU scores went up a little bit.

PCMarks: I don't have a base to compare to. Can some of you with Yonahs post your PCmark scores?

SiS Sandra Benchmarks: I downloaded the new version which lists the T7400 Merom as one of the bench guides along with many of the new Conroes. It's nice to see that my T7400 beats the guide and holds up well against other "high end" processors listed.

...that's it for now. Hope this helps.

Yes Merom is a really great update for Yonah's.
I have a feeling that it is cooler than Yonah as well since Dell released the suitable bios.

I do a lot of floating point ops on my notebook ... the speed increase was huge. 4MB cache help alot, too.

if you don't mind me asking, how much was the processor and where did you get it. You can pm me the info if you wish. also, would these chips work with my E1505?

Mine works in an E1505 ... very well I should add

You have to look through forums. I think there are some on NBF in the "For Sale" Section.
Got a T7400 for 360$. I guess they are cheaper now.

govtcheez - I sent you a PM then found this thread. Could you measure temps of your Merom under load and at idle?

Also, do you have the B0 stepping, revision 4 chip?

This tool is most accurate for measuring CPU temps and CPU-Z will give the CPU info

From what I'm reading, the M1210 BIOS is superb for engineering sample Meroms - no excess heat issues, all the performance and enhanced battery life.

Much obliged!

Thanks for sharing your info!

great work. now someone needs to post up results with a normal production core2duo to see what(if any) difference the official version of the processor makes. that, and find out for sure(praying) whrether dell has made any internal hardware changes for the line of core2duo m1210's that they have now released
