Anybody else switched to console gaming due to high costs of PC gaming? - Page 2

Nope, I'm a PC gamer all the way!! You dont have to buy the biggest and the best in order for things to look good for ya. Plus, look at the cost of a PS3....you can get a decent computer for that price, and even if you go over it, its still upgradeable!

If you're going to have a computer for email/web/blabla anyway, you may as well get a good graphics card and a DVI cable and hook it to your TV. The sound control is simple, you can game, you can watch movies in any format you want. If you're going to have a million dollar TV and a $700 computer, you may as well up it to a $1200 computer instead of buying an XBox.

Get Call of Duty, Madden, and a couple other multi-platform games and play them on BOTH consoles. CoD on Xbox almost made me angry because it lagged and chopped and glitched so much, but that's what I get for playing it on PC first. Madden was just no fun at all because the viewing distance sucked. I'm sad that my 44" DLP can only handle 1360x768 resolution, but PC games pwn console any day.

I love consoles, but I had a bad experience with my x-box, as a not working fan, so its over-heats, which doesn't bother me,cuz I just ripped of the top, and put a little fan over it. But, I still love microsoft, dont ;'( little

But I got a 300$ x-box and a 2200$ computer

IF had to choose between, My new conroe desktop or a X-box 360

Conroe wins.!!!!

Conroe FTW! I got mine a couple days ago, but my case hasn't arrived yet and will not arrive until after I leave for Hawaii... Oh well, I'll just have to put it all together in a couple weeks

It seems to me that its only first person shooters that require the really expensive graphics cards. I'd agree with who ever said that u don't need the best to game on a pc, and u prolly already need a pc anyways, add in the ridiculous price of high quality tv's compaired to computer moniters capable of displaying the same resolution and I'd rather play on pc. The thing I do miss on pc though is sometimes I find 2d games have better gameplay, and on pc 2d games when they're gone they're gone, but a handheld game console takes care of that for me.

Heh, I'm trying REAAAALLY hard to not buy one of those. Especially since my desktop broke the bank.

Super smash bros was the greatest game ever and to ever be created in the history of the universe. I clocked so many hours on it i can't even count em. (P.S Mr game n watch sucks) (P.S.S Zelda is a god)
for me its a mix of both.

not got an Xbox360 yet but do have PS1,2 and Dreamcast and PSP

BF2 sucks on the PS2 but is awsome on PC, for me the console is great for racing and beatem ups, but FPS and point and click need to be on a PC.
The old NFS was great on PS2 but Mostwanted looks so low res on the PS2 now compared to my 1600x1200 on the XPS, even on the HD TV it looks awsome at 1366x768.

I might get a 360 as PGR looks great

And then one day, I saw the deal for the XBox 360 over at Overstock for $360 shipped, I immediately pulled the trigger since I already have a 57" HDTV and boy oh boy, I never realized that console gaming (especially next-gen) could be as much fun as PC!

And the best part is the simplicity of console gaming.....insert the disk, lay back on the leather couch and u r fragging in minutes without having to post a thread online asking whether your system is capable of running it in the first place or not. Even though the 360 games are like $60 but since I 'joined in' so late, I can buy the older games for less than $40 (GRAW, Oblivion, CoD2, Black, GTA-SA).

Becuase of the 360 and availabilty of good games (plus backward compactible games like GTA-SA), its pushed back my future Conroe build and for the first time in my life, Im not hurrying to get back into PC gaming

S

what makes you say the cost of pc gaming? xbox 360s are still in the high 300's plus correct? and still 20-50 bucks a game no?

so after you get all the cool games, acc. for the xbox 360, youre looking at the cost of a budget pc

i suck at halo on xbox, i rule on computer, computers and gaming are super flexable

and yes the graphics can be better on a console, but guess what, thats all they are ment for, graphics
