Ok i bought an WD320 gig 8mb cache sata2 with the Venus Enclosure for 3.5sata usb

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817145660

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136003

those are the products i bought to hook up to my 9300...

i plug it in with power and the usb and the lappy recognizes the WDC WD32 USB Device, but i cant get into the drive, it doesnt show up in the window screen where you see your other diskdriver and cdroms. They did include a red cable sata cable that i didnt hookup because i do not have a connection for it on the laptop, but it doesnt seem like i need one because the pc seems to recognize the hardware with out it.

Need help acessing the drive. Help, i was hoping for this to be a simple plug and play deal but im now wondering if i chose the wrong hardware....errr

Go into Computer Management to partition and format the HD and also giving the proper drive letters

Start>run>compmgmt.msc

In the left pane of the window that opens, click Disk Management. Create your partition(s) and format.
