What video cards will fit/work in the E1505?

I got the 7300 because I thought the more expensive one would be better, but now I wish I had gotten the X1400.

Are there any other cards that will work? Dell refuses to let me swap the video card (which I pretty much expected), so I am thinking about buying another one in the near future.

I know these work:

ATI X1300
ATI X1400
Nvidia Geforce Go 7300

any other options?

thanks

thats it

i really dont know why an X1600 wouldnt work.. if you look inside the asus z86j (same thing as e1505 with a x1600) the layout is just like the e1505 and the cpu and gpu both share the same fan and exhaust outlet.... so therorectially, the e1505 has the right connections, the right cooling and the right power to support an x1600

I,ve read that the bios doesn,t support other cards. I'm new to lappys but not computers. My desktops never needed a bios update to run the latest card available.
Can someone please explain? I would love to try a x1600 in my E1505, does anyone know where to buy one?

I thinking of buying the e1505. What is it that you don't like about the nVidia card? That has been the card of choice for me in several machines.

Thanks

My nvidia card scores about 200 less than the x1400. It's not that I don't like it but have always had the upgrade bug. Plus it would be the only e1505 with a x1600

The nvidia card is just fine. There's not anything I don't like about it, but I was just annoyed when I found out the X1400 performs better (and costs LESS!).

My intention was to get the best video card possible b/c video card upgrades aren't usually feasible on laptops.

So far I've found nothing wrong with the 7300 though, so maybe it doesn't matter anyways.

Please let me know if you find out if this works. Also do you know where I could find the X1400 to buy stand-alone?

thanks
