Macbook Battery Question

Hello fellow computer enthusiasts and mac users-

I will admit first off that this is my first time having a mac ( i have a macbook) and so I am not very familiar with them. Saying that, I have recently downloaded a program called coconutBattery 2.5 which calculates the original battery capacity and then your actual battery capacity at the present time. Well, a week ago I checked it and it said: original battery capacity was 5200 and my actual was 5188. But I checked it again today and it now says actual battery capacity is 4851. Is that normal...dropping that much in a week? Does that mean my battery is dead. I have that apple care thing..will they replace the battery for free if it is bad? Thanks in advance for all your help. Oh, and I am also sorry in advance if this question is dumb. Thanks a lot.

i guess i'd base it more off your actual run time. keep track of it w/ a stop watch every now and again. i've had my iBook for over a year and a half and i'm still getting over 3 hours of battery time. if u do notice a dramatic drop in run time, then yes, u should ask for an exchange under applecare.

macbookster, Check if your battery percentage is 100%, mine is 97% when its fully charged from playing with the MagSafe ... and I have to Calibrate the battery. Cuz right now its only getting 97% of its full potential
