Priced @ $2710.00

Yet when I went onto Voodoo's Website, theirs is priced at $4403.00 with the same config as if mine was painted (If I chose a painted option on the Hypersonic it would come to 3216.00)

Now I know that VDPC and Hypersonic uses the same chassis, but is it REALLY worth an additional $1200.00!!!!

I have read multiple articles about the support level of both companies, but it Hypersonic's really that bad.

I hope not, because I placed my order and am very looking forward to receiving my machine.

Just soliciting opinions!!

Voodoo PC is notoriously overpriced, and they are based out of Canada. I would never want to take a risk of my painted notebook being taken out and checked by customs. It would be practically used at that point.

Also, Voodoo has much more limited configurations and does not offer near the features and options that HyperSonic does on most of the Clevo notebook models.

Thanks, Dennis, I am the one who actually bought the SFF PC from you a couple of month's ago on Ebay, and I was impressed with Hypersonic's build quality, hence I ordered the laptop.

Small world I ended up getting a Clevo based LCD PC L570W to replace that system from Bold Data. Since I never used it for gaming but just overall, general quick computer use, I decided to get something much smaller in space with a nice 17" widescreen display built in.

The paint job on that entire system was really nice especially with the matching LCD monitor. I am glad to see you are still pleased.

I just received my EX7 last week and I can only say good things about the support I received during my build. I always received an answer back within one work day if I sent an email and the phone support was great. In the middle of my build due to problems with the custom graphs that I sent, was not high enough quality I was contacted by Hypersonic and while talking to them on the phone we changed my machine from an FX7 to an EX7. I think that you have made the right choice.

I think you are going to find the CX7 able to handle your needs. I spend a lot of time gaming on mine and I have no issues. I do have a nice desktop - but it is so much more comfortable to sit in the family room (in my big, overstuffed chair) and game.

Good luck!

Hey rat, check out his price, go figure his is cheaper than mine by a bit and a better machine...../cry!!! I only got the 2 512m sticks and 60gb drive too. I won't go into the difference in vid cards bleh....GL man great system you got there....Once i get moved and such and setup again im gunna get with HS and get this baby upgraded. Although I am weighing the thoughts of just seeing what happens when dx10 comes out.

Ratmyr,

What was your build time like. Just curious cause mine is in "in queue" now, and wondering how long that phase is??

MasterSlayer,

My CX-7 is just behind yours, processed but not in queue. Maybe I'll call them tomorrow and offer them extra $ so I can jump ahead of you! JK

I am expecting about 2 weeks total based on their estimate and various posts.

Maybe I will give them an extra 50 cents!! Cool, what config did you get??
T2500 processor
2g Mushkin RAM
512mb Nvidea 7900 graphics
100GB 7200 RPM hard drive
WSXGA screen
DVD R/W
WiFi w/bluetooth
XP Professional

This seems to be the popular config for many on these forums, except I went with the WSXGA instead of WUXGA.

My current notebook screen is UXGA which is awesome by itself. The problem is when I hook up a second monitor or projector. You can change resolutions independently, but your desktop or presentation can get out of whack depending on what you're doing.

The WSXGA screens I've been looking at are wonderful, so I decided to reduce my machine's screen to be more compatible w/what I intend to be connecting to.

I always hate waiting for stuff once I've ordered it, and considered getting the Hypersonic pre-configured CX7. It is a pretty good setup, and $400 less. In the end I decided the 2-week wait and extra $ will probably mean I can keep this notebook at least a year longer than the pre-config.

It took from about the middle of November until the first of Decemeber - so just over two weeks. There was no paint job involved for the initial deal - but we did have some issues with the display and the no-dead pixel deals. Thus the reason I swear by it.

As for Detox's comments - I agree. Man, the systems have to be killer since I know the original ones were great! Oh well.

Woooooooooooo Hooooooooooo, it went from "in-queue" yesterday, to "ready to be launched" today!!!!!! WOW, that was speedy. Hopefully I will receive a tracking number shortly!!!

Can't wait, biting nails, etc.

Wow, the CX7 seems pretty popular, I just ordered one myself early this week. Similar configuration to others here as well.

Well so much for getting my hopes up, I called Hypersonic yesterday to see if there was a tracking number and they told me "they will put a rush on getting my machine done", and they don't know how it got to "ready for take off" so quickly

That sux,

I think my earlier crack about offering $ to jump your spot cost me - I've been stuck on "order processed" for several days. I wish they'd at least pick up my paperwork & put it in the in queue pile to make me feel good!

My rig went from "In queue" to "Kitting and assignment" straight to "Shipped". I was getting frustrated as well thinking my order was just sitting there. Seems they don't update the website as each step of our orders are completed...

That's encouraging. Otherwise all they've done with a full week is run my credit card!
