George Bush Talked About Alienware On Friday

I was listening to his address from Camp David where he was discussing economics with his eco advisory panel and you'll never guess what he said...

He was talking about a few of those apple-pie american success stories.

It went something like:

Just the other day I met a man named Nelson Gonzalez who started a PC manufacturing company in his garage with a friend and 10 grand a little over 10 years ago.

Today they sell around 190 million dollars worth of PC's every year.
He didn't mention the ass load of money Nelson and his 'friend' probably raked in from Michael Dell which, to me, is the real kicker! But nonetheless, regardless of what you think about our current administration, it is cool as hell to see Georgie boy talking about our beloved AW's!

That is an interesting tidbit, Craig. You're right, if we forget about the politics (and let's not go there, guys!) - it is pretty cool that the President of the United States met Nelson and then used the reference in an address.

President Georgie Boy is a gamer??

If Bush was a gamer, I bet he'd play Battlefield 2 and stay on 24/7 Gulf of Oman servers.

Well... I had a link to the speech but it's dead... Bush gave Nelson and "his partner that isn't here today" props for being an American success story. He talked aobut him starting in a garage with $10,000 ten years ago. He mentioned the first year they had $87,000 in receipts, and this past year they brought in $192,000,000.

When the President of the United States uses your story as an example of American success, it's gotta be considered a good thing even if he's an idiot.

Good for Nelson and Alex.

If Bush was a gamer, it would take him three weeks to understand the rules of minesweeper...

And I think BF2 would be a bit too close to real combat for George... There's no reserve, and there's no going AWOL in BF2...

Sorry, Ma'am, but HH was just so . . . right.

yup, opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one and they all stink! Anything related to politics shouldn't be posted here anyway! Craig should have known it would cause a stir. Who gives a sh!t who mentions what in a press conference? Just cause Tiger hits Nike balls doesn't mean I'm gonna give up my pro v1's! Hammer, you sound so angry. Maybe you should run for office out in the Pacific NW. I'm certain that your political ideology would much better suit the average american. All who frequent NBF know of your infinite wisdom.

It's not the point of Craig's post. Anyways, it's cool that AW got recognized by GW.

yes it is...and nothing more.

No matter what you beliefs, let's keep politics for the OT section. I just wanted to bring light to the fact AW was mentioned on a national level like that.

ironically, Michael Dell did the exact same thing as Nelson did except out of his dorm room at The University of Texas. I wonder what got Dell to the point where it could engulf companies like Nelson's
