Playing laptop in bed

Thread Starter
I have been trying to use laptop in bed, what I end up is placing it on my chest in a vertical position holding with one hand and it's not that comfortable. Has anyone discovered a good position ? I saw some kinds of laptop stand images , which look pretty cool, but I don't know where do they sell.
.

I've found another one from lapgenie: . They're selling it for $139. Does it really worth for the price? Any experience on this kind of laptop stand ?

-thanks

Although one would be convenient, I don't think it's worth spending over $100 for something I'm sure you could rig up yourself for a lot less

i just bend my knees and rest the lappy on my thighs....or rest the lappy on the bed and flip on my stomach then prop myself up with my elbows to type...that cannot be good for my back

thats really not ergonomic... see how the elbows are not in a 90 degree angle, you wouldnt stand to be in that position for a long period of time

this is the ultimate setup:

that guy is gonna be so owned when that imac falls on his FACE!!!

you know...if you have an adjustable bed you can prop yourself up (both body and legs) and i bet that'd be pretty comfortable

A *good* adjustable bed (queen size) usually runs close to $2,000.

But, onto contributing to this thread. I use my computer in my bed to play games only. The way I do it is bending my knees slightly and putting a couple of extra pillows under my upper back/neck/head (for full support). It will get uncomfortable after 4 or 5 hours, but my sessions in bed usually only last about 1-2 hours.

I did, but felt uncomfortable after 1 hour, the laptop always slips in that setting.

Yeah. I guess I should have noted that I am playing turn-based games (Rome: Total War) and RPGs (Neverwinter Nights), so it is a lot easier than if I was playing a twitch game.

Hi,
I got the laidback from here (http://www.sitincomfort.com/laplaidtab.html), which is very comfortable for use in bed, but my hubby got an air desk (http://www.airdesks.com) which is infintely better than any lapgenie or laidback.

I whole heartedly recommend the airdesk. A little pricey but its so good because theres nothing restricting your movement or how you sit.

If you want I can sell you my used laidback because we use the airdesk now. Send me a pm if interested and we'll talk.

Both are good. Laidback is good but airdesk is much better. I recommend the airdesk if you can spare the extra change.

What if you got one of thoes movable mounts for like monitors? Can mount it on the wall next to your bed. That way when you're done with it, can just fold the mount flat against the wall.

www.lapdawg.com is selling for $79.99 and it looks like one of the pictures you shown.

Wow, I would not even try it, in bed. By then I am not worth much.

WOW, that thing is 80 bucks?

When I'm in bed, I use one of these:

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/boo...41767500&itm=1

At $15, It's cheap, inexpensive, and relatively comfortable for laptop use, sketching, or reading magazines. The most important thing I've found is that it doesn't block the air vents and is a hard level surface so my laptop gets adequate airflow.

LOL I just sit in bed and use it, no need to buy anything, everyone has a lap they all have access to

True, I do that too when I'm too lazy to grab my tray...or if it's just for a few minutes. But if I think I'm going to take more than half an hour, I'd dig out the tray.

Speaking of trays... I use a old keyboard tray from desk that I eneded up taking off. Works GREAT but its quite big...
