Crazy screen on m1210

This reminds me of what I would see on my old inspiron with a geforce4 go.....something that was soon followed by a dead video card.

This is currently happening to me on my m1210. It happens at random times, sometimes playing games, sometimes after quiting games, sometimes it just happens.

I get this kind of crazy screen even during boot, but it resets after the driver is reloaded by starting windows or ubuntu. BIOS A03 and Dell 84.69 drivers installed on a brand new system.

Call Dell, they'll replace it if it's a new system. You're right, looks like a bad video card.

After a battle to keep my connection to Dell chat open and 3 tech reps, they had me reseat the cable connector for the LCD. Things seem better and the problem hasn't resurfaced, so I am crossing my fingers and running/closing games while rebooting a lot.

They asked me to check it on the battery only and with an external monitor which I will do if it happens again.

Just FYI of any who might have a similar problem. I will post if the problem reappears.

ouch. i bet you were like "AHHHHHH! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!" when you saw it. Yeah, call dell.

Bah, I still get the problem on battery. I doubted that would matter, but Dell wanted to know. It hasn't happened when I have an external monitor connected, but I will post if it does.
