9750 vs. 5760

hi there guys,

I've been in a dilemma lately, I've been researching laptops for a couple of months now, trying to decide what would be the perfect laptop, I've got it down to those two, the 9750 with the Athlon 64x2 4400+ or 4800+ and the 5760 with T2600 Core Duo.

Which do you think is better, Which one has the faster processor, I really don't know which one is more powerful, the Athlon or the Core Duo.

Based on my configuration I think they both cost the same, they both use the 512MB 7900GTX, I'll be using it mostly for surfing, photoshop, gaming, Huge deal of multitasking that my current desktop can barely handle, So im really gonna need the most powerful out of them to handle my use.

I'd really like to hear you're opinion on this.

I had the same dilemma and I ended up getting the 5760. I mainly use it for gaming/internet/htpc.

For gaming it is top notch but make sure you get 2GB of RAM as I noticed on BF2 when I maxed out the graphics it wasn't playable but as soon as I put an Extra 1GB in there it worked flawlessly with everything set at maximum.

I think in the end either will do what you wan't it to do but for portability you would be better off with the 5760.

Well, are you willing to sacrifice some portability for a faster desktop processor? Would the Core Duo satisfy your needs?

If you care at all about portablitiy then go with the 5760....if not then 9750....both procs should satisfy your needs its just a matter of deciding between mobility and DTR
