Change processor of an Acer 3624 WXMI

Thread Starter
I'm thinking of buying an Acer 3624 WXMI laptop.

It has a Celeron M processor, running at 1,5 GHz.

I wanted to know if it is possible to change the processor of this laptop (in fact I'm not gonna change it, but I would like to know if it is possible, cause maybe I will upgrade it in the future).

I've been looking for the service manual of this machine, but I haven't found it. Does anybody has it? Could anyone help me?

Thanks!

Hi have a look here, they seem to have an awful lot of manuals for acer laptops. http://www.eserviceinfo.com/equipment_mfg/acer_43.html

hope this helps.

Yes, technically u can change it to any 400mhz bus pentium m. Now, certain acers chassis make it impossible to actually take the processor out of its socket, so u might not be physically able to take it out without hackin slightly into the chassis.

My aspire 5000 chassis covered one of the 3 screws of the processor heatsink, so unless i cut that part out to be able to put the screwdriver onto the screw I couldnt take out the cpu, so check ur laptop to make sure the entire cpu assembly is easily accessible.
