Yamaha MW10

Hey Guys, I would like to know if anyone has had the chance to actually use the Yamaha MW 10. I'm considering in buying one soon so I can start learning the basics on recording, but I'm in a tight budget. And the few reviews I've read don't really help.

Um if you are just getting started and want to learn, a better idea might be to intern at a studio(This means run coffee and ask questions when you can pretty much most of the time) than to try to buy stuff yourself, learn the basics FIRST and then when you buy, you'll be able to make more informed descisions, for instance what are you planning on recording? Will this allow you to do that? Is it overkill for that purpose? Is this actually the best way to spend your money right now? Etc.

As for the device, while the price for what you get doesnt seem bad, and Yamaha is a pretty good company, I havent tried one or heard much about them to be able to give you an idea, sorry.

I am just getting started up with the Yamaha MW10. Can you help me some with the set up? Specifically I am having trouble figuring out the hook up for the powered speakers. I am running a CD player into the MW10 but cannot get the right set up for the speakers. HELP! Buckred

The speakers/monitors get plugged in to the stereo outs or control room outs. In general stereo outs will work fine.

For the record saying I cant get it working does not help someone to help you troubleshoot very well. The more detail(What have you tried, what have you not, what exactly is the problem, etc.) the better and easier it is.
