Advantages of Windows Media Center 2005

I'm in the market for a new Dell. What are the advantages of Windows Media Center 2005? I currently use XP Pro. I was also considering getting a TV tuner installed.

i dont think there is any advantages to using media center. i prefer beyond tv. other people like sage tv. i would get a trial version of each and see what you think.

I prefer the Media Center that comes with Win XP MCE. That is pretty much the only advantage of getting MCE. All the other features are the same or lower than the Pro's.

And lets not forget Media Portal, another excellent (and free, OpenSource) alternative to MCE.

I prefer to run Pro since MCE won't join a domain.

if your into the whole music/video thing and tv on ur laptop then MCE is good, but personally for me, i never use it.
