OMG! New omega drivers bypassed my login screen!!!!

I'm completely ashtonished! I used the SMARGART functionality to enable FW, rebooted, and went to make myself a nice hot coffee... when I came back I saw the login screen's screensaver starting... and... then the computer automatically logged into windows without my password, showing only the settings tab of the SMARTGART function and the wallpaper... I clicked OK and... it continued the login process normally, without any password... I've root privileges and access to my private files/folders as well. Really funny. I have gone through the process three times now and it happens again and again. Nice security implementation if a driver can bypass it without any problem... Should I report this to the omega team?

I would check all your login settings just to be sure that it's not you. Reboot a few times after changing your password, then if it persists drop them an email.

I've changed my password twice, with same results... maybe there's something really wrong with the security in my laptop, some kind of exploit built in in the login screens I've downloaded and/or in the programs I've used to modify them, I think that I've restored the original LogonUI.exe, but now I cannot be sure... It's not that I am worried about it, I really don't store anything sensitive or valuable in this computer, but if it's a hole in windows xp's security for sure someone smarter or keener than me will find a way to exploit it. Can someone with a 4780 laptop and Windows XP SP1 try to reproduce this? It's just a couple of clicks, a reboot, and a wait in the login screen for the screensaver to pop up. Use the "Advanced SmartGart Options" utility of the new omega drivers, click "Retest All", then "Apply" and reboot when prompted. Then wait...

try using the TweakUI MS toolset (freeware). I don't have a link, but several other posts have mentioned it. Maybe search for it. Under users in the toolset it will let you specify login settings and welcome screen options.
