Some people who haven't overlcocked before will tell you otherwise...but I've overclocked evertyhing since the Celeron 300-->450 days and I'm sure there other before me (in fact I know so). That said, I have never had a single problem. If you work within the limitations of your cpu/gpu, you will NOT have a problem. That said, most proggies now will reset, auto-shut off, blablah if you overshoot your overclocks. Don't worry about it. Start bumping up in 5mhz increments and back your way down after artifacts start. Ideally, run your video card about 10mhz lower than what it runs at without artifacts and you're good too go.

Yeah its all bullocks the only real damage you can do is taking the parts to the max and that can be a good or bad thing. you could end up burning in the parts and being able to take them further past yoru current limits then again you coudl also end up frying the parts. ive gotten both results so play it safe and do sensible overclocking
