Join Date: 08-24-2006 Oh come on...please... Sony is nowhere near the top of the list as far as quality machines....But we sure are glad you just decided to join today within the last hour ...And I gotta love how it is called a "problem" when it is so obvious it is part of the design. As far as it being "easy" to take out the extra screws...heh apparently you aren't aware of all the quaity people that are authorized to take apart these machines that don't have a clue. This is a problem with any company. My old inspiron 6000 LCD cracked because they used the wrong screw in the hinge assembly. the guy brought the LCD and asked me how to take the machine apart... Don't tell me it can't be broken...A person without the knowledge to properly service the equipment can break anything ...Oh speaking of Sony "quality" Aren't the 4.1 million batteries being recalled made by...Sony? ...Oh gosh can I add one more thing... Here is a December 2005 link to quality based on 35,000 responses. http://www.pcworld.com/zoom?id=118514&page=3&zoomIdx=1 erg...Looks like dell comes out better or on par with Sony everywhere except phone response times...And look ...eww... Sony had the worst rating on problems resolved...

yes you re right last hour... was the right thread 4 me to register .... and sony s not the top .... right... but there` s no discussion ..support is much better than dell..... design and support s better than Dell

Wow, this thing has grown legs! I like my hole. I'm glad it's there. I would be upset if Dell plugged my hole. My hole makes me happy. I might paint my hole a bright color for all the world to see.

While Phone supprt is better, design is in the eye of the beholder & was not rated in this survey... However the following items were rated and sony has:

-More problems on arrival
-More hardware & software issues
-Less satisfaction with reliability
-More failures to resolve the problem (leaving the user screwed)-Whats good is the support if your problem doesn't get resolved lol?

You know sometihng I think I will go with the machine that doesn't look quite as pretty but has less problems...

...but it's not a problem...as was already discussed here... It was designed that way for a purpose...It isn't a problem (why do I find myself feeling like I've said this before).

Ahh another one from my country ... and I'm afraid to say he's right!!!

If Dell won't do anything against I will!!!

No problem to add a little piece of plastic to the inlay ... modding rules and before I forget it lol
post #91 of 155
...If you added anough plastic it would be to the point of rubbing the top keys...OMG you guys are not going to give up on this sheesh...If it's that much of a problem for you just don't get a Dell...Crimeny some people will find the dumbest things to complain about.

Complaining is good to let a company know that their quality standards are not good enough, if nobody would complain nothing would change ... maybe someday you will be thankfull *lol*

And not to forget (I love it *g*)

Better to complain about and starting diskussions ...

just saying

is not the right way.....
iv` e got a desktop pc from dell too. It s the best one i ever had... so why shouldn t i diskuss about a bad laptop?
I think its nessessary ..because next time i ll buy a laptop i d like to get a great dell laptop. But not with such bad mistakes,,,,,

i hope i used the right words.,.,.. its very late
post #94 of 155
no one thinks it's a problem except you lol. This has been a part of these notebooks for a few years now & you are the only person I have ever see complain about it so what does that tell you?

It's not like there isn't a reason that it is designed that way. I mena omg lol you made a sig showing the part of the notebook and say you are going to drop it...lol I was wrong about you, it is a flame thread lol

Knowing you got screwed by Dell..Oh come on, if you call that screwed by Dell you have serious issues

...And Ollix, it's NOT a mistake, it was DESIGNED that way for a PURPOSE.. I know how hard it is to understand that, but please try though I'm starting to think you are incapable of understanding it was designed that way for easy servicing.

Flaming is such a harsh word ... call it sarcasm or something in that way ... I'm more than satisfied with the specs and the benchmarks of the notebook - no question - but at cost of building quality ... hmm I don't think so.

Why is that so that people don't complain when something is wrong, I don't know...but I know one thing as you see they go on by building such notebooks cause they think " as long we put in enough power people won't complain about building" and in my eyes it's the wrong way...

...and the thing you are refering to my sig, yeah I stand to the things I said and also show it...

My first thought was a sig saying:

"I got screwed by Dell - but it's only a hole - my (ass)hole!"

but I thought again and priceless was better...

EDIT: easy servicing ... it were only 4 more screws if a technician can't solve this he should go to the beach and built sand castles

I own a M1710 but mine has not such a prob but the friend's one and I think this is a shame...

I got a life (married with 2 children), but I've got lots of time during working in the datacenter, so I can do a little posting.

And as far as I know I got no tension inside me ... I really enjoy posting here and discussing ... you can see this by looking at the funny bbcodes I took *g*
post #99 of 155
...FOr the 9th time it is NOT a mistake in the construction of the laptop...apparently you can't read
