Hi guys

I just bought myself some new DVD+R blanks and they don't seem to work correctly as they are not reognized as 4x speed.
Seems the dvdwriter needs a firmware update urgently cause I don't wanna run into more problems in the furture.
But how can I get such an update as DELL doesn't provide one?

There is no firmware update that I'm aware of .. What brand disks are you using and what program are you using to write to your DVD's?

I have the same drive and don't have any problems with my 4X media. So far I've used TDK and Memorex 4X media. For backing up my movies I've been using DVD X Copy Express and for files I've been using Roxio EZCD Creator 5 ...

Hi

I used 4x Verbatim and Platinum before and they all worked fine.
Now I bought MEMOREX as you used those are DVD+R 4x and they only get recognized as 2,4x.
As Soft I am using NERO in the newest version.
Is it possible that maybe NERO doesn't know the discs? Cause it would really suxx big time to have wasted this much money on a 25er case of blanks

Thanks
