CX7: Plug headphones in, laptop speakers remain on

I have an issue maybe you can answer Pat... When I plug my headphones in, the speakers do not cut off like I expect them to. I have tried changing the audio settings and I have tried changing the settings for the RealTec HD audio program, but nothing seems to work; the speakers remain on no matter what I do. Hypersonic email support is slow to troubleshoot... not their fault... Can anyone help me?

And the headphones work as well?

That is a new one for me. Good for if you were using speakers (to have additional coverage, but yeah... defeats the purpose of the headphones.

Headphones work fine. I still use them as they sound better than the speakers, but I cannot get the speakers to shut off. This is a big bummer! And I have not heard from from Hypersonic tech support in a few days... I hope they do not forget me...

Taybrush:

We haven't forgot about you, one of the support techs has been trying to research this to see if there is anything we can do without having the unit brought in.
We are trying to replicate your problem, but aren't having much luck doing so. I hope to have an answer for you by the end of today.

If the system has to be brought back in to get looked at, then I'll make sure it is overnighted both ways.

pat.

Pat thanks. I wasn't trying to be rude, I hope it wasn't taken that way. ?Just let me know what you guys find out. I am also having trouble finding out about my firewire port also. I haven't found anything that works when plugged in... I tried both a Panasonic DVX 100A camcorder and a Mac formatted Seagate firewire drive (using Macdrive 6 program to translate - works fine on USB). I was going to try to find something else to test it with, but not having luck thus far... This is something else I would like tested if the verdict is that it needs to be sent back. Take your time and let me know what you come up with.

...Try this go into control panel/sound & audio devices/volume tab/advanced/advanced under volume control and click PC speaker mute.

If it is a hardware issue (you might try reinstalling the audio drivers first) this might serve as a solution until you can take the unit in for service
