I'm seeing conflicting reports on this. On the one hand some people say it's locked in at 64 megabytes under OS X—but apparently will work at it's full potential under Windows—and other people say that when OS X needs more it will allocate more over and above the 64 megabyte limit.

thanks kakaze, but since the vram is derived from the main memory is there a way to mod/hack the OS which would allow us to set the amount of vram as we desire.. cos when u think of it , it does sound possible and i'm sure that some people might have thought about it too and even taken a shot at changing it

well i didnt have much luck with google, but i did ask the guys at cnet and they too said that its not possible.. however i was going through the macbook page on apple and at the bottom of the page it says "Memory available to Mac OS X may vary depending on graphics needs. Minimum graphics memory usage is 80MB, resulting in 432MB of system memory available on 1.83GHz models and 944MB of system memory available on 2.0GHz models" , i thought the macbook only had 64mb vram but here they say that the minimum is 80mb.. i'm confused, anyways the iphone kicks ass
