Same thing happened to me. I'm calling them this afternoon to find out.

okay wtf

my lappy's been in phase 5 since i think tuesday, it went into phase 6 on thursday for a few hours then back to 5 in the afternoon, now its monday and its still on phase 5 so i called alienware and they said that my laptop would go into production "maybe wedensday"

so this whole time i've really been in like phase 3 but its displayed 4-6

Cheh, you're still doing better than me. It took them just over two months to get my m5500 built, tested and shipped.

They need to revamp their web-based order status, as that happened to me. I went from phase 5 to phase 1. when I ordered my m5500 back in april. I had to call CS to get the real phase number, and the total time from ordering to receiving was 1o days...

my tracking information says "departed from Orlando Florida" and has been there since saturday morning

is that normal? its been 1 3/4 business days and its still on the road?

Congrats on your Alien's arrival, Chodorovski!

And Bryan (I say this in the nicest possible way, so please don't be offended) - we've no evidence that the random shutdown issue is a universal problem with every machine...so, if Chodorovski's computer doesn't have the issue - it doesn't mean it's "fixed"...just that it's working as it should. btw...what did you decide to do after returning yours?

ummm I'm waiting for AW to put my newly ordered m5550 in production. It just appears that this "Issue" is happening with the m5550/m5750 models only. I dont know what to think anymore... They recieved my m5550 on 9/11. IF they dont take care of my order soon I will just eat the restocking fee or contact my CC company to see if they can do anything. Why should I pay for their mistakes? Clearly I'm not the only one with this issue so don't feel offended if I'm not in the best mood... especially since I spend 5-7 + hours with tech and CS for no reason... CS opens 9-7, the hours I work so it's super inconvient for me to waste my lunch hour calling these clowns. The m5550 should have worked right out of box PERIOD! What a waste of over a month of life waiting for this laptop. IS it worth it??? We'll have to wait and see!

Bryan...I absolutely understand your frustration. I've been through it once myself. It sucks that your computer didn't work perfectly out of the box...I'm not sticking up for Alienware here - just making the point that not all of the m5550's have had problems. It's also disappointing that it's taking a while to get the new one to you. I hope, if you decide to hang in there, that the new one works perfectly for you.
