9750 :::dvd not reading:::

ACK ! ! !

I was having problems with roxio 6 not finding my drive, when I was trying to burn a dvd of my slideshow project. GRRRRR. Nero recognized it, but only let me burn to cd. too small for my needs.

So I tried diferent stuff and nothing worked.
Then I read on the web that everyone needs to update their driver like all the time.
somehow I found the "proper" update called, bla bla bla . . . . DVR-K16_FW142
my dvd is a pioneer dvr-k16, so I took the bait without backing up and now the drive is labled as a cd player and does not autoplay and does not show contents in my comp or in the run menu box.
I really need to install the brand new slideshow software that I just got today. strange enough I can still watch The Fifth Element when I use the WinDVD software. looking for help to see the obvious

stayed up late and came across a cool site called, Dangerous Brothers Present . . . they have an interesting motto, "One World, One Region" (code)
they have a very long list of firmware for just about every cd/dvd burner on the planet. they had not one, but three driver versions for my dvd. 133-142-144 I jumped at the highest number, it loaded compleatly differently than the "official" driver, looked good so I defrag'd and cold booted a bunch of times. Now Im back in the sweet life unless I fall off my tricycle again.

check it out, you know you can trust a site that it is "powered by beer and crisps"
