Symptomatic of what's wrong with Sony, that is.
As many articles in the press are saying, it's inexcusable that Sony should have manufactured laptop batteries with the glaring defect (metal inclusions) that lead to fires and burns ... but they did.
Just like the way they sold me a PC for US$2.5K that had a bum DVD burner and paint that rubbed off after a few months. I was shocked that this huge Japanese company, which had a long-standing reputation for quality, was selling such low quality equipment at the old high prices once reserved for top quality items.
But they are. As I've said before, I'll never buy Sony again.
