Well I am going to sell my Z92Km and buy a Ultra Portable laptop. So I need some suggestions of some Ultra Portables with AMD cpus. I have only found one myself http://www.averatec.com/notebooks/3700series.htm.

essentially yes, MSI (that that averatec is based on) is your only viable option
http://www.msicomputer.com/NB/produc...asp?model=S271

i would buy it as an MSI and not Averatec rebadge b/c you can find it with better tech support and its available with a Turion X2

Nice find. Any idea on the battey life of that notebook. Also that looks just like the Averatec 2100 Series Notebooks.

On the page it says 8-cell battery 4400mah, and with its lack of dedicated GPU and small screen I would say it should get 3.5+ hours.

I think i may go with the Averatec 2100 since its just a MSI-1013 rebaged and goes for half the price of the actull MSI.

blah might have messed something up.

Averatec 2100 = MSI S271
for $1050 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834152022

no clue what the 3700.

but as i posted above, for $1050 a Turion x2 + x200 is not a bad deal

I am not worried about all that I want a Turion notebook for little money. I have to be able to buy this from the sale of my Asus and want to still have money left over. Honestly if I found an older Athlon XP thin and light notebook I would get that. All I need this for is GPS and Wireless internet on the go.

I can get both the Averatec 2100 or 3700 for around $700. If I had the money I would go with the X2 but I am not looking to spend that much.

Because by limiting yourself too just AMD you're holding yourself back on the market.

Well some people perfer AMD. Also I refuse to buy anything made by Intel if I can. I do not support a company like that.

Also if you have no info on what this thread is about do not post.
