Looking for Ultra Portable AMD Laptops. - Page 2

No I was asking you why you where only looking for an AMD model.

Personal perference aside what makes Intel a company not worth supporting? Either ways you're limiting yourself too the wider market thats out there by just sticking with AMD model only laptops.

If you've got a huge chip on your shoulder, you might want to leave it at the door if you're coming to ask for help. It's very common that someone comes in saying "I need X, I won't consider Y", and then they find out that Y might serve their needs pretty well.

Obviously that's not you...you don't want Intel and that's that. But don't get cranky when someone asks about it, because we have no way of knowing.

Some people believe that Intel has engaged in anticompetitive practices and want to do their part to discourage behavior like that.

Intel certainly has shown a willingness to compensate for poor products with aggressive marketing.. The P4 was a piece of crap, but Intel wouldn't admit this and tried to steamroll the competition with marketing.

Now that Intel has a product worth selling (the Pentium M and its successors are decent chips), some people haven't forgiven them and still want to support a company that has consistently delivered high-quality products with a minimum of marketing.

Its not Intel's fault that the mass of sheeps just hurdle.

Also just because they had the better business plan of taking action IE pretty much all OEM in the lower, mid and high end used intel for a deal wasnt one of there problems either now was it?

I'm sure how they led the masses hand in hand about how clock speed was everything was wrong but hey people could've if they wanted too educate themselves but they didnt.

Either ways Intel might not had anything worth looking at till P4EE's started too show face but you must admit that in the playground they are a hit. From gamers, multitaskers, and always the masses the newer chips are fabulous for desktop/laptop market.

I decided a long time ago I would make my purchasing decisions based on price/performance rather than political affiliations.

I see too many people completely biased against one company or another which I think is fine if they made crap products. But when they make the best products...all that ends up doing is hurting your wallet.

Yeah... on that issue I'm proud to say that I follow selfish ethics.

I don't know whether to feel insulted or complimented!

Really, i'd rather get the most for my money rather than grind my axe...unless I personally got screwed over by them...

Consider that we all got screwed over by Intel. Their marketing people forced a bunch of very bright engineers to continue working on Netburst. If they'd been doing something useful during that time...

I don't consider myself to have gotten screwed over by Intel....I went from PIII to AMD Athlon then Athlon 64, then Opteron. I completely skipped over the P4 generation of chips.

Now I want to try Intel's Core 2 series of chips. I go to whomever gives me the best performance for the money at the moment. I have no loyalties to either company.
