WoW...Alienware ceases to amaze me. So I took pictures of the card right?
As you can see, when Alienware shipped me the replacement video card they did put it together very "carefully". The rubber white square padding from the heatsink "melted" to the chip on the GPU. I removed the melted piece of plastic, cleaned off the abundant supply of thermal paste alienware also applied all over the ****in place. Re applied the paste appropriately and wah la! Its back to normal....for now. Im idoling at 55-57C and only pulling temps of 69-71C after 15 min of COD2. Lets hope I don't jinx myself.

I have temps on my right side of the gpu at 115 C and 10 the other side lol

and then i just restarted and unplugged the ac outlet and replugged it back in

and back to 60 C idle, and 80 max under heavy long strain

Well thats definately not my problem seeing as how I just dissconnected everything in order to take the video card apart. Everything was back to normal until this morning. Getting the exact same lag again....this time I had temps of 74C L and 84C R, processors only at about 60-65C. I highly doubt its the temps although alienware definately thinks it is. Guess Ima have to go sit on tech support...again. Until I get this shitty computer fixed.

Man o Man...So Alienware told me to remove all of the thermal paste from the heatsink and gpu and to re-apply it the way its suppose to be. I did and I took pictures and sent them to alienware. I got on my game and played for about 30 minutes and there was no lag....not sure if its fixed though but alienware wants to send me another new card "just to make sure" . He said hed rather send my whole system in for repair but right now thier backed up and that would take 3-4 weeks to get my system back so he said he didnt want to do that unless it was neccessary. So here I go again waiting on another videocard replacement that will more than likely not fix my problem...ah well! Guess thats what ya get for buying a 3800$ computer blindly...learn from your mistakes!

Ok so I recieved the card and guess what! It was in two pieces again! I checked the GPU and yet again it had GOBBS of thermal paste on it, like the just went crazy and squirted it all over the freakin place. I cleaned up Alienwares mess like the tech told me to on the phone...re applied some more thermal paste and installed it. Gettings around the same 3dMark05 scores now but I havent had time to play any games to check for the lagging yet. Hopefully its fixed, I'll attach a pic of what the dang card looked like when i recieved it.

We'll a week has passed and yet again my computer is still spiking lag. I don't think its the video card seeing as how this is the third video card to be installed in my system. What else could it be, RAM maybe? The fans are spinning but the card is still getting very hot. 63-65C idoling and up to 95C while gaming. What could be the problem?
well it seams thats its running a little HOT, however that card can reach 110 with no problems, then again, ill recomend you send it to AW repair so they can check it out and replace what ever needs to be replaced

Yeah I think its definately a heat problem...when i turn the fans allll the way on with getthermal it lags way less. I don't think that should effect the lag unless it was a heat problem. I try calling Alienware again here soon...I just hate talking to them lol. Im also going to sell this notebook as soon as I get it repaired.

With slowing fps's, it might be the processor overheating.

It's hard to say what the issue is if it's heat related. Could be the mobo delivering too much power to the cpu or gpu, or it could be damaged components...
