8204 Case out of Alignment? (see pic) = noisy CD Rom?

Hello All,

Well I haven't had my 8204 for even a week yet.

I've noticed that when I put some DVDs or CDs in the drive, they make a vibratation noise like crazy.. if I push 'just so' on the drive the noise gets better.

Looking closer I saw this:

Anyone else have a 8204 with this gap on the left hand side, or is it time to send it in for repair...

I too had the same problem as you when I first got my 8204 and I sent it in to Acer to have that unusual rattling vibrating noise seen to. I got it back before 2 weeks and they replaced the CD/DVD driver. Now it works like a dream again, smooth and not noisy anymore.
I actualy got the Acer guy who answered the phone to listen to the noise and he recognised it immediately telling me to send it in. So perhaps you could do the same and they should know what the problem is when they hear that rattling vibrating noise coming from the driver.

Hope I've helped you there!
