looks very interesting.
Great battery life too.

Looking a bit closer, it is less interesting.
It uses the Nforce3-150 chipset. This is slower but a better overclocker then the VIA chipset used by EMachines.
It also uses the slower NVidia videochipset. This is slower then the ati 9600 in the emachines.
And I mis-read the battery rundown time. Not as good as the Emachines model. (2.5 vs 3+)

Type A: Li-Ion 18650 8 cells, 14.8V, 4400mAh, 65Wh battery pack (Standard)
Run-Down life, Car mode: A: 1.5 hrs, Run-Down life, Motor mode: A: 2 hrs, Run-Down life, Walking mode: A: 2.5hrs
Smart battery charger, charging time, 4hrs/2.5 hrs (System On/ Off) to 95%

I mistakenly read the battery time as 4 hours, when it is 1.5 to 2.5 depending on the task.

Has anyone seen this sort of nonsense before?
Run-Down life, Car mode: A: 1.5 hrs,
Run-Down life, Motor mode: A: 2 hrs,
Run-Down life, Walking mode: A: 2.5hrs

Car mode? Motor Mode Walking Mode??? What?
Am I to believe if I take my latop for a stroll it lasts longer. And if I use it in the car it dies quicker then normal??

This is Asus's proprietary PowerGear program. These modes are not actual physical conditions. They are names of modes you can set in the program. Asus' website explains it better.
