Hello There,

I am new here but i am in the market for a laptop. Does this xps come with any other software, like microsoft office, windows xp backup? I am inteterested in it but by the look of things on the forum everyone needs to know that i am not full of crap. I have a 100% positive feedback on ebay username: tafb12 , I run my own gaming clan, http://www.mhmclan.com . I need a laptop for gaming but also for some school work. How long does the battery last on this laptop? Do you accept paypal? I may need to pay with a credit card so paypal will have to do unless you can accept it somehow. Let me get back to you on how soon, could be by this weekend i just need to touch base with my wife just so she doesn't get pissed when i get this box in the mail.

Feel free to email me or if you would like to chat on the phone i can pm you my number. We can talk price after the response. Take care and i will check back later.

great price, and yeah it is upgradeable to the 7800GTX, I can say this since I upgraded mine which is the same exact model. Yes the BIOS needs to be reflashed but the DELL XPS support walked me right through on the phone. Dell has everything you need online to do it.

@toltec - YGPM

@green93VR4 - if you install the A05 BIOS beforehand, then its just a matter of installing the 7800GTX card & updating the drivers I suppose.

This is very true
Is the system you are selling already @ A05 BIOS ?
I did it after installing the 7800GTX and it was no big deal, dell really makes it easy to upgrade.
Overall I am very impressed with my XPS gen 2 experience, I have had no reliability issues at all, and that is saying something for a high end laptop like this.

Yep, its @A05

and yes, its been extremely reliable, especially in regard to what i've been hearing about some of the later iterations of this model.

Seriously???

That is so cheap! I actually paid $3600 WITH a 40% off coupon for MY XPS Gen 2 back in May of last year. How much would mine fetch?

2.13GHz Sonoma (Undervolted stabley to run much cooler at 1.1v@16x, and 0.7v@6x)
2GB DDR2-533 RAM (2x1GB)
nVidia GeForce 7800GTX Go (was upgraded from 6800 Ultra), overclocked to 440/1150 -- will include BIOS nvFlash CD-ROM with multiple overclocking options and separate instructions on over/underclocking to what you want)
100GB 7200rpm HD
17" Ultrasharp WUXGA (1920x1200) - NO Dead Pixels
Windows XP Pro SP2
8x Dual-layer DVD Burner
Intel 2915ABG Wireless
Dell TrueMobile 350 Bluetooth 2.0
Integrated Subwoofer
2 x OEM A/C Adapters
2 x OEM Batteries
Original Manual, OS & Driver Discs
Dell De-Crapified when bought

What would I fetch for this?

fat chance on this forum.... lmao! The release of the core (2) duo pretty much crushed the prices of the older generations just like the release of the Gen2 and M170 killed the value of my XPS Gen1

But honestly that price is more likely to scare people off than get offers IMO.

cheers,
whack
