question about my game lagging

Thread Starter
Okay I'm playing Neverwinter Night and It's awsome, but the game lags a little...mainly when Im running around the city. (Game patched)
I've turned down the settings to medium and it still does it but not as much when its on the high settings. The game should run fine on high setting anyways... Its not like this computer doesnt make the spec's.

Here are my specs
pent 4 3.0GHz
512 RAM (I'm thinking this might be the problem)...even though it shouldnt be
ATI 9600 (no overclocking with the newest AW drivers)
16.1 screen (like that matters)
Im using the notebook cooler
And the programs thats running in the back are Anti virus ones.. I've disabled them and it still does it.
Everything else is the same on all AW notebooks
Also it's on AC power
Anyone know what the problem could be??

Also just a quick question with the Alien eyes (love em') when the notebook is plugged in and the eyes are green they seem to look awsome and all th eyes are lit up, but when its not on AC and the eyes are blue it doesnt light up as much as it would when its pluged in....anyone notice this? or is it just me or are my AW eyes going bad. I just got this computer in January.

Thanks guys!

It's the position of the blue light inside the eyes it's ore toward the top while the green is in the middle of the eye and the red at the bottom.

Hi Blazehenryson,

This problem seems to be affecting several of us. Not just in NWN. In my view 512Mb of PC3200 should be plenty to play all the lastest games at reasonable resolutions and speed. Their seems to be an issue with IDE PCI Latency when a game needs to load from disk in the middle of gameplay. Producing a lag or a pause in gameplay. Download Sisoftware Sandra and run the wizard to check to improvice peformance. See if you have any warnings on your WLAN card (if you have one) and the E-IDE controller. If you have a warning about latency then that is what (we think?!?!?) is the problem. AW are looking into that report for me at the moment. See links for our discussions and updates.
