HELP me!!!!

I left my laptop on and there was a power outage, i suspect my laptop 8890-V went on hibernate, but I can't get it to start anymore. It was off when i got back to it, and when I try to turn it on now, it looks like the laptop died. When I press the power button, all the led's turn on like they should...

the power LED turns on,

but no fans, no beeps, no display, no nothing.

The green power LED stays on.

Things I've tried:

1. Tried to reset the CMOS by disconnecting the power adapter, the battery, and the CMOS battery. This doesn't help at all.

2. Tried removing hard disk drive, this doesn't work either.

3. Tried cleaning the heatsink... nada.

4. Tried the Fn+Esc to turn off the hibernate mode, nothing either.

Is my two year old lappy truly dead already? Help me! Needed to do work, but now I'm helpless and stranded without a comp.

That doesn't sound good!

Maybe this will help:

- disconnect all devices, cards, mouse, keyboard, secondary monitor, sound, usb keys, ...
- press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds (you did that of course)
- try your spare power adapter, check cable and connectors
- try your spare battery
- remove the battery, keep power cord connected

Good luck!

I agree. Especially considering the source. Sounds like the power outage fried your Mobo. Sorry, hopefully you have a warranty.
