Before You Buy Your Core 2 Duo Dell Read This!

I JUST ordered my xps m1210 w/ a core 2 duo processor, and you should follow this advice:

ORDER IT ON THE PHONE and NOT ONLINE

what i got from over the phone purchase rather than online:
$75 off the online price
free $50 internal wireless card upgrade
FREE OVERNIGHT SHIPPING! (yes thats correct, woot)

tahts almost $200 free, so i suggest you do the same.

I was very polite on the phone and what I asked if he could get me any discounts, and he said yeah sure let me ask and ill call you back.

5minutes later he called back and said that he could give us $75 off the online price. I went on the thank him and explain how i need this notebook badly for college and he said that I should get the dell internal wireless card which is supposedly 50% faster than the stock, so he just threw it in for free. Then i asked the ship date and he said at the latest the 13th and I said that I am leaving the 15th so I need the laptop ASAP and he said that he would overnight it for free.

Anyways I suggest you use a similar story (mine happens to be true lol, I didn't lie), but i hope this helps you grab a deal.

anyways good luck have fun

sorry for the post i'm just pumped about my lappy

Where did you find a 20% code that works on the M1210?

According to TGDaily, the performance boost isn't substantial, which is good for current core duo owners out there. Still, you got a really sweet deal! Good work and thx for sharing.

but apparently battery life is boosted by quite a bit. M1710's with core 2 duo are getting over 100 extra minutes compared to same speed core duos. even still, its a 64 bit processor which should come in handy down the road . And its the same price.

yeah, in my case it was $150 cheaper but I upgraded to XP Pro with my "re-order" because it apparantly is much easier to connect to my universitys network with XP Pro. I didnt want to originally because I know vista is right around the corner and it is fonrimed that they will have a 32bit and 64bit version so the core 2 duo or core duo will both run it fine. but heh w/e im hapy with mine and I'm sure core 1 duo owners are as well

Here's a good review on the core 2 duo. It's not on the dell notebook but is a useful article to help buyers be aware:

Are you serious? Where did you find this information? If that's the case, I am really impressed!
