canabalizing parts

ok so after many hours of trying many different things to fix graphics issues
(ie cleaning inside, reinstalling windows completely, updating bios, trying about 10 different drives versions as well as the omega drivers) i've given up. Emailed sager and told em the problems i was having, and the tech said it was most likely the mobo going. got a quote from em and not to happy with the price, almost 300 was the quote... i can build a better desktop for 600... soo the question is now what to salvage and what to let my primal instincts go nuts on.

i'm probably gonna remove the tuner, hd's, lcd screen, found some info to convert it to a flat panel so i'm gonna mess with that, processor and heat pipes, fans and probably all the little flashy leds inside cause i'm a techno packrat and like collecting fun little parts of circuit boards and what not.... anywase i'm taking suggestions if anyone would like to buy components from me or make requests on very mean things to do to a dying lappy.

How much for the TV Tuner? Thanks in advance!

I'm inquiring about the TV tuner also... Sager doesn't make them OEM anymore.

Boggieman - I have one for the 8790 that I purchased with my unit. PM me with a price that you are willing to pay (with or without shipping) The original software that I received for it with my 8790 will be included. I ordered the subwoofer and use that since I like my external USB PVR better. I'll even throw in the Radio Shack 90 degree connector that keeps the cable running towards the back of the b=machine instead of to the right into the deal.

How much for your battery? Is it the 8 cell or 12 cell?

Thanks
I also have a power supply if you need it, also a 12 cell battery, you can send email to xmaswiz@gimail.af.mil
post #12 of 17
Do you still have the battery?

yeah still have the battery, though i took it out cause of the heat issues with the laptop. Anywase, doesn't get very good length of usage, only about 20 minutes tops thought if you want it thats no problem. Its the 8 cell standard battery.

You guys posting your emails might want to keep that part to PMs since bots might harvest your publicly posted addresses.

Just a friendly PSA. Carry on.
