Patch Windows XP ISO - Help!

Thread Starter
Is been very long since WindowsXP cames out and there are alot security flaws by now, and everytimes i formatted my HD and reinstalled WindowsXP, connected to internet, and sometimes ads pops up without me touching anything on windows desktop. And patches download time has increased from time to time. Now I got to learn to patch the WindowsXP security flaws first on the WinXP installation ISO, reburn to CDR. Than when WinXP installed all the flaws will be fixed. Can you teach me this?

Thanks you.

Thanks but what i see just extract SP2 into Window installation. What i mean is install hotfixs into it. You know the 'KB' packages.

I have used the method outlined HERE to create an install disk with SP2 integrated. I don't know of any method to integrate the patches that have come out since SP2.

What I did the last time I reformatted is install the slipstreamed SP2 version of Windows. SP2 will give you minimal security that you can use until you download the patches and your own Antivirus, Firewall and Spyware apps. Better to install those apps before you connect to the internet.

PS. Now that I have Acronis Trueimage 9 I can reformat and reinstall everything in less than 30 minutes from backups on DVD.

It seems like HDD image backup and restore. A full installation of WinXP with SP2 plus full updates will only used approx 3-5GB which able to backup on another HDD Drive or DVD DL.. Nice but still, that hasn't answered my question.. T_T What i need is install the hotfixes(Criticles) updates into the WindowXP installation package.. Not the SP2 package.

go to ur add/remove software windows
write down all ur kb*s
go to microsoft support site
search for those kb*s - there should be a link to the download

there r many sites that offers windows hotfixes as well (hotfix.net per example)

best & safe things:
1. full image, like mentioning above
2. slipstream xpSP2 with ur needed drivers and apps, then burn it. so if u have to download patches/hotfixes ... it does not take that long just to update those

cheers ...
