When is your E1705 Core 2 Duo ship date

Thread Starter
Just curious,

mine is Sept 13 and it is currently still in pre-production.

P.S. This is only for people who ordered an E1705 with a core 2 duo processor.
LOL, I just want to see someone post that they're getting an M1710 with the Core 2 Duo Processor.

And then watch your reaction.

Mine is slated for a 13th shipment date as well, still currently in "Pre-production" phase...

Can someone post their bios version for the e1705 with the core2duo once it arrives?
(I am curious if dell has some new A03 etc.. bios available for these units as the current A02 does not full support the current Meroms that are out now)

TIA!!

I just ordered mine on the 31st and estimated ship date is 10/2

I really hope it goes out sooner than that, seems as if I missed the tail end of the first shipment of 7200s

Looks like you ordered the Duo, not the Duo 2.

I ordered my E1705 with the t7200 on the 29th. Estimated ship date is Sept 13th. I got them to throw in free next day shipping. Should be here by the 14th. It is still in pre-production. I check it 10 times a day to see if it has started being built yet. Cant wait!
I ordered mine with the Core 2 Duo 2ghz, I think I win in ship date: "on or before 9/12/2006"

Ordered on the night of 8/28/2006, so I guess I'm practically first in line. Hooray!!

Intel Core 2 Duo processor T7200 (4MB/2.00GHz/667MHz)
17 inch UltraSharp TrueLife Wide-screen WUXGA
1GB DDR2, 533MHz 2 Dimm (I ordered 2gb of 667mhz ram from Newegg, it arrived yesterday )
256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS
100GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem
8X DVD+/-RW Drive
Integrated High Definition Audio
Dell Wireless 1500 Minicard
Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Module (2.0 + EDR)
80 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
CompleteCare Accidental Damage Protection, 4 year

Final price was $2,299.99 (plus $216.25 for the 2gb ram with 1year warranty per stick)

I can't wait!!!

EDIT: Forgot to mention... Yep, mine is still in pre-production, I just checked a minute ago. And I had the standard free shipping that came as a result of buying it online, so it should arrive between 9/15-9/19 or so.

Its crazy how these prices fluctuate, glad I ordered on the 30th. I ordered through the EPP site and got the system in my sig for $1635 (no complete care) shipped plus a $50 mail in rebate. Just checked the site again and now my same specs cost $1850! Specifically, the 7900 GS was $239 additional when I ordered, today it is $299.

To those who haven't ordered yet, always check out the EPP site too if you're comparing prices. When I ordered I had 12% off when selecting 3/4 yr warranty, and 20% off on top of that. No special coupons. I've heard the tech support is almost always American when you call in, we'll see about that though.

Still in pre-production as well.

yep, still in pre-production. I hope dell starts building it soon cause I really need it for school.
I certainly don't NEED it for school, but it will be kick-ass when I bring it to our school gaming club and I whoop everyone in counterstrike, at 1920x1200 res

My E1705 + my Razer Copperhead mouse will be pure ownage. At least, I certainly hope and expect it to.

Yeah the price on mine is certainly high, but I went almost all-out in upgrades, as you can see the battery is upgraded, I got the warranty, I went for the Dell Draft N with Bluetooth, and of course the higher video card and 7200rpm hard drive... It all adds up fast.

This blew most of the money I earned over the summer, which many people have said I should have spent on a car. Well I really couldn't care less if I take the school bus through high school, and I have wanted a laptop since I was like, 9. So there. And you know what, my love for computers has paid off. Because while all my friends were working at Chick-Fil-A and movie theaters making $6-7 per hour for a few hours, a few days a week, I was working in a full-time internship M-F every week, making $10 an hour.

So that's my little story, cause it's almost midnight and I'm bored and just browsing these forums.

HURRY UP DELL! I WANT MY VERY FIRST LAPPY TO COME QUICK!

By the time these ppl get there laptops Dell will release the new bios for m1710 e1705 etc by then
post #19 of 274
Well, I figured out why mine was delayed. Apparently, Dell can handle sending you one 9 cell or one 6 cell battery, but if you order any combination of 2 batteries, your order will be delayed 11 days. Doesn't make any sense to me . Changing the order goes in as a new order . Anywho, I changed my order for just one 9 cell, so now my ship date is 9/21(was 10/2 before) and they upgraded my shipping to next day . Not quite as soon as some others but at least the faster shipping will help.

Still, it's just not the same. For instance, if I'm not mistaken, changing the processor voids the warranty? Or at least the Dell warranty will not cover the Merom processor, so if you plan ahead you better buy the Merom from some retailer that has a 3 to 4 year warranty (unless you're stup... i mean, not scared of accidentally dropping/breaking the laptop) Plus that's another $400 or so added on to your old e1705's original price... eww! I'm glad I waited until now to buy the laptop. 9 more days (not counting shipping time of a few more days)!!! :terracotta: :terracotta: :terracotta: : pie:
