Another update... I changed my mind about the Dell crap. I said that while I was going through the Windows XP setup (where I type my name, and stuff like that). Then I get into actual Windows and it turns out Dell put some crappy skin on windows and made fonts bigger and probably increased DPI or something. And then the programs appeared... Yikes!
Anyway, I'm reformatting XP now, following the guide at
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=67545. Then I'll go through the deal with installing drivers, updating windows, installing all my programs, etc. and then I'll be all set to actually DO something with this laptop

.
You know, it's just like the mac ad... You guys have seen it right? With the apple guy and the windows guy each in a box, and the windows guy is stretching and stuff getting ready to set up, and the mac guy is like "i think i'll go play games, make movies," i don't remember exactly what he said... And he hops out of the box and walks away. I can't find it on apple.com right now, but if you guys really want to see it I'm sure you can find it.
Oh and I've actually got a question this time. I saw a section of the bios for virtualization, to enable the VM features of the processor, and it defaulted to Disabled. Is there a speed hit to enable that? Or maybe it is disabled for fear of the Blue Pill? I don't know, but I intend to find out because I do want to do some stuff with VMs on this PC...
EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot to mention... As another person said, this BIOS version is in fact A03.
