The responses I got
To all forum members
These are the communications between chris and me and it is obvious that he wants to keep the ill begotten money. But maybe deep down in his hart he might have a conscience. He can fool some of the people some of the time but he can't fool all the people all the time, that's for sure.

The warranty is fully transferable because the unit was purchased at a retail location. Alienware sold their laptops through best buy and best buy requires that it is transferable so I believe the tech you spoke to was mistaken. As for it automatically recognizing it then xp recognizes it. I’m still unsure as to what your problem is with the modem. If you’d like I can send you the original receipt from where I purchased it there.

As I just emailed you Alienware's policy is, the warranty is not transferable and why are you so reluctant to return my money if you think your computer is in perfect condition then you should be willing to offer it for sale again. And again I was assured that XP will automatically recognize it. Christopher I know your a good man so why don't we just exchange our property and shake hands.
Thanks Frans

Frans,
As stated in a previous post the laptop may need a driver for the modem. I have never even used it, I’m connected with broadband. As for any contacts with alienware I haven’t tried. Like I said I am willing to send the other items as posted in the forums. The unit when restored was run from the windows xp home edition cdrom provided to me. The drivers were installed of the alienware cdrom. I will send these to you.
There for the unit is not a paperweight. It is in a fully functional condition. As for trouble fighting alienware, if there is indeed a battery issue as you state I hardly believe they will fight you being as it’s still under mfg warranty.

I should not go through these problems, which you probably already tried with Alienware and now you try to palm these problems on me.
Don't tell me that Alienware did not installed the modem driver when you bought it because you have to axtivate Windows XP, I see that there is 25 days left to activate otherwise it is going to be locked out. So you basically damage the battery and the modem and sold the computer as in perfect running condition and now you want me to go through the trouble to fight with Alienware. And in 25 days it will be a expensive paperweight.
Please understand that I want you to reimburse me, you will get your computer back.
Please do not prolong this, you know that your forum members will agree with me.
I think your character is worth more than $1250, it is very easy to make enemy's but friendships is priceless.
Thanks
Frans

The modem drivers may not be installed,
ftp://alienware.com has the drivers. I’m Sure you realize that when you go from 1800 – 1250 that’s a drastic loss on something you spent over 2800 on. Were talking over half the cost was taken away. I failed to update that post and I will honor it by sending the said items to you. I also received a notice that the battery was having a problem holding charge. This shouldn’t be the case as it worked fine for me, albeit plugged into the wall mainly I didn’t use the battery much. You’re still well under MFG warranty for the battery should it need replacing, I would also suggest calling alienware to transfer the warranty to your name. If you would prefer they can send you a restore set / welcome kit.

I think you are being dishonest look at your post and nowhere did you state that you will not include those items for your last asking price. I also specifically ask you what will be included and you list evrything I mentioned.
I discover something else, since I need to activate WindowsXP I need to connect to the internet but system information can not find a modem. Basically I bought a paperweight.
Again for you to make good is sent me my money back because I do not need crappy laptop. Please respond as fast as you can I give you 3days to send my money back and you will get your computer. I trust you are a gentlemen enough to honor my request so we can part with no hard feelings.
Thank you.

The bag, cables, mice etc were for the laptops when purchase at that price. It’s not feasible for anyone to loose that much money. The manuals were all available from
ftp://alienware.com The alienware binder merely had configuration in and was since thrown out. As for recovery cdroms I must have left them out. I will find them and send them right away. If you would like I will send a Gift card to you for you to purchase a new laptop bag to cover the inconvenience of the restore cdrom set not being there. I apologize.

I finally received the Alienware but you did not include the hardware and software as requested and according to your own listing below. All I got is the laptop with AC power supply. I was very disappointed. No MANUAL, no emergency disk,No OPTICAL MOUSE, no 25 FOOT ETHERNET CABLE and no SAMSONITE BAG, IF THIS IS AN OVERSIGHT ON YOUR PART THEN PLEASE SHIP THE REMAINING ITEMS PRONTO. Or you can reimburse me and I ship the laptop back it is your choice. Please protect your reputation.
Sincerely ... Frans
The second as a more portable gaming system. My office will be giving me a new laptop and i have build a shuttle minipc for gaming. I'm looking for $1300 for the HP and 1800 for the Alienware. I paid roughly $1600 for all the stuff on the hp including tax and the alienware was $2800. I have a Samsonite laptop bag that was $60 for each, 25 foot ethernet, 15foot modem, microsoft optical intelimouse for each as well. I have no problem throwing those in with each laptop as well. If you would like pictures and/or have a serious inquiry please e-mail me Chris at TMSexchange.com, Please don't email if you're not truely interested
